One problem people tend to have when they buy a new bed is knowing that to do about mattress disposal. Some companies will deliver a new bed, and they will take your old bedding away for you without charging you anything extra.

This is the easy way, but there are some that dont do that, especially if you choose to take your new bed home on your own. That means you have to set it up on your own, and you also have to worry about getting rid of your old mattress.

If you dont have someone who will do mattress disposal for you, you can have your local garbage collector pick it up, but you are going to have to pay a lot more to get rid of it. Some will charge a lot extra for something too big and bulky, and there are some that will not do mattress disposal at all, simply because they cant deal with the bulk when they have a lot of other customers to worry about on any given day.

If you arent sure, you should never just set your bedding out for mattress removal. Find out if there is a bulk day, or call ahead to be sure they know you want to put it out for pick up.

You can also accomplish mattress disposal by taking it on your own to the local dump. This is not something most want to do, but it is an option for some. If you live in the city, you may not have a dump nearby, or you may not want to bother with it. Worst of all, you have to have something large enough to transport your old bedding for mattress disposal if you wish to do it this way. They will take them though, and you may find it costs you a little less than having someone pick it up.

Some dont worry about mattress disposal, but instead, they just keep their old bedding and use it for a guestroom. If you have extra space for a bed, and you have guests that come to stay, this is always a great idea. However, it might be a good idea to have it cleaned, just for the sake of appearances. We all know mattresses tend to get dirty. You might have to call a professional cleaner to come in and do it for you, but your guests will be much more comfortable on a fresh smelling mattress when they come to stay with you.
