I have been fascinated and intrigued by event planners ever since I was very little. You see, my mother was a bit of an event planner herself.

Of course, the events she planned were confined to her own family, but nonetheless they were spectacular. My birthday parties were the hit of the neighborhood, and my older sister's wedding is something that people still talk about. I was always baffled by the amount of work that went into events management the attention to detail that was required to make sure that everything turned out just perfectly. Many people take event management for granted, but not me. That is why it was so thrilling for me to finally get the chance to try my hand at it.

I had never actually intended to be an event planner. Ever since I was very little, I have wanted to spend my life as a creative writer. As a matter of fact, I still do wants to be a novelist, but this is easier said than done. Almost every writer has to face the necessity of coming up with a day job in the mean time.

That is how, one summer I found myself hired by event planners to help with a wedding.

My first wedding planner gig was pretty simple. My task was menial I was only hired by the event planners as a temporary employee. I had to serve drinks and food, make sure that the guests were happy that kind of thing. It paid pretty well, and I wasn't making anything at the time, so it was a welcome, albeit temporary gig. However, the event planners were so impressed with my service that they decided to take me on. Although I knew nothing about their business, they vowed to teach me what I needed to know. Soon, I was learning about event catering, decorating, renting halls, and managing and coordinating all of the innumerable details that go in to planning events.

After several years of working with them, I started my own business. Nowadays, I am one of the most successful event planners in the entire metropolitan area. What is so great about this business is that you can start from nothing and make a name for yourself if you're willing to work hard and get everything just right. There is no school for event planners you just have to learn how to make people happy.
