Early Childhood Learning

One aspect of human development that many parents overlook concerns their children during the toddler stage. Whether you believe it or not, your child is ready to begin learning at a very young age.

Notice how he/she soaks up as much as they possibly can. This is called early childhood learning, and it's up to you to encourage it. Although your little one is not old enough for kindergarten yet, he/she can still begin to learn in a social environment. These days there are plenty of options beyond the walls of your home.

You've probably been told before that it's crucial to read to your children, starting at an early age. This process familiarizes them with words, sounds and pictures, hence already beginning the early childhood learning. Well, it doesn't have to end there. You can also enroll your child in a school. While many of these educational centers look like day-cares, they actually offer early childhood learning rituals.

Where is home? Home is where the heart can laugh without shyness. Home is where the heart's tears can dry at their own pace.

The teachers/caretakers interact with the children on a small academic level in order to better prepare them for kindergarten. This may include reading to the kids, encouraging them to read, teaching them new words, how to spell and pronounce terms properly. In addition, the children interact with one another and pick up proper social skills.

I was lucky enough to visit a school that dealt with early childhood learning. It was rather sophisticated and ahead of its time, if you ask me. All the children were below the age of 5. They interacted in monitored social environments, played with educational toys, learned how to use the Internet and play reading games. Some were even being taught about basic science. This is definitely pretty impressive for children under the age of five. The really cool part was that they all appeared to be having a blast, and as we all know, this is what's most important to us at that age. I have to say I am impressed with early childhood learning centers and what they strive to achieve. Maybe at this rate, our children will soon be doing algebra in the fourth grade. Wait a minute; I was having difficulty with that stuff even in high school. Maybe I needed an early childhood learning program.
